TEST RESULTS

BLOOD TEST AND SAMPLE RESULTS

You can get results by calling reception Monday-Friday between 2pm-4pm

When you attend the treatment room for a blood test or give any kind of sample that has been requested by your GP, you should expect to wait 2-3 days for most the results to be available. (Some tests that your GP may request are more specific and may take longer for results to return.)

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor - If a GP does not feel like your results require urgent follow up you will be asked to make a routine appointment.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to - unless that person has given prior permission for their results to be given out to a named next of kin or if they are not capable of understanding them.

If you have had blood tests taken for any of the following reasons:

  • You were a hospital inpatient
  • Your specialist Nurse/Consultant has requested them at an outpatient appointment
  • You have been provided with Consultant labels and a blood bag to take to the treatment room
  • You attended a private hospital and your private Consultant has requested them

PLEASE DO NOT ASK RECEPTION STAFF FOR THE RESULTS OF THESE TESTS.

Your results will return to the health care provider that has requested them.

It is not the responsibility of your GP to follow up on blood results they did not request.

You can contact your health care provider via their secretary or you may recieve a letter in a few weeks detailing your blood results.
