MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER CLINIC


We currently have a Mental Health Practitioner working along side our GP's in practice. This service involves having a consultation regarding mental health problems, treatment, peer support and a referral if needed to hospital teams without needing a GP appointment.


Our Mental Health Practitioner Davy Edgar runs a clinic in our practice on a Tuesday and Thursday.

He has appointments available both over the phone and face-to-face.

You can make a routine appointment by phoning reception from 8:30am Monday-Friday.

Following an appointment with your GP or our Mental Health Practitioner Davy Edgar you may be offered a referral to a service within the Community Adult Mental Health team.

If you would like to be referred to a service please make a routine appointment with your GP. You can make an appointment by phoning reception from 8:30am Monday-Friday.

SHARA - SELF HELP ANXIETY REDUCTION WORKBOOK

PREGNANCY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE


The Perinatal Mental Health Service was recently launched in October 2023 to help women during pregnancy and after the birth of their baby. It is a dedicated and skilled multidisciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrist, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Specialist Midwife, Specialist Health Visitor, and a Quality & Information Officer.  

If you are struggling with your mental health during pregnancy or after the birth of your baby, please remember that help is available. 


If you would like a referral to this service you can make an appointment with our Mental Health Practitioner Davy Edgar by phoning reception from 8:30am Monday - Friday

Appointments are available on a Tuesday and Thursday both over the phone and face-to-face.

Alternatively you can speak to your Health Visitor, Midwife, or a Mental Health professional already involved in your care.

ADULT AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER SERVICE


You cannot self-refer to the Adult ASD Service.

You can discuss a referral with your GP or health care professional if you think you need an appointment with the Adult ASD Service.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES


CHILDREN and ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (CAMHS)


Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services or CAMHS provide a service to children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

The multidisciplinary teams are made up of Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Worker and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The service works closely with agencies statutory and voluntary agencies.

You need a GP referral to CAMHS - You can make a routine appointment by phoning reception from 8:30am Monday-Friday.


AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER SERVICE


If you have a concern about your child’s development you should make a routine appointment with your child's GP, Health visitor or Paediatrician (if they are already under the care of one) in the first instance.

In relation to preschool children, at the age of two, health visitors undertake a screening assessment

This team provide a range of services for disabled children and young people with:

COMMUNTIY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR OLDER PEOPLE


Older People's Mental Health Services within the Western Trust care for people aged over 65 years with mental health problems and all adults with dementia.

The Psychiatric Liasion Service


The Psychiatric Liasion Service for Older People's Mental Health compromises a Psychiatric Liason Nurse and Dementia Specialist Nurse in each sector who is supported by the respective Consultant Psychiatrist

Memory Assessment Service


The memory assessment service is a specialist service which aims to detect and assess dementia in adults of all ages, make treatment recommendations and provide information and support to patients and care givers. The Memory Service Team consists of memory nurses, team leader, psychiatrist, psychologist, geriatrician, occupational therapist and dementia navigator. The service is dedicated to improving early access and diagnosis for those with a probable dementia. 


Dementia and Older People’s Community Mental Health Team


The Dementia and Older People’s Community Mental Health Team provides assessment, treatment and support to people over 65 with a mental health problem and/or dementia and those under 65 with an early onset dementia.

This service operates between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
